4 American Weekend Getaways

Image
I love the United States of America! There are so many places to see and gems to discover! I haven't done 1% of what I do want to do in his amazing place. And all I need is time and money and I will go explore more. With my experience, however, I've picked 4 amazing cities you should definitely not miss when thinking about visiting America. I loved not only the cities but the surrounding nature and countryside. So. Enjoy my picks and plan your own trip. 1. Miami, Florida As Will Smith, Pitbull and other artists say: Miami is the place to be if you want to party like there is no tomorrow: no work, all play, Okay? And relax on nice beaches all day long. It is a place for the rich and the beautiful, a place to spot and try to be spotted. The city attracts a large number of musicians, singers, actors, dancers, and orchestral players living the American dream, hoping to make it someday. Not a secret that they would usually have a waitressing or bar job until the big dream ...

Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Explore the oldest city in America

Image
Even if you do not get yourself into one of those fancy Ivy League schools like Harvard or MIT, Boston and Cambridge are still worth a visit. They are charming in each their own way and very different, even though they are just divided by a river. As many other tourists have discovered, both of the cities are great stops to make for more than just browsing through some of the many higher education options.  For example the quaint and narrow streets of Boston. Here you will discover some of the oldest North American buildings and churches. These were built by some of the first explorers that came over the sea and, as you will soon learn, offers quite a fascinating piece of history. Narrow Streets of Boston Boston Boston is one of the oldest cities in the United States of America, first founded in 1630 by English settlers. It is a charming city located around 5 hours north of NYC in the state of Massachusetts. The easiest way to get here is to jump on a bus from NYC and ta...

Atlanta, Georgia is on my mind

Image
Who doesn't want that southern hospitality the film industry talk about when they mention the southern parts of America? Well folks here is a place where you can get a taste of what all them’ people are talking about. Atlanta is the capital of the U.S. state of Georgia. It is where the weather is warm and the people are kind. So why is Georgia on my mind?  I've been to Georgia three times. Twice in the summer spending my time in Atlanta, the suburbs and in the countryside trekking and exploring and once in the fall. Where I had a chance to see North of Georgia in all its colors. Stone Mountain, Georgia History of Atlanta  Atlanta was put on the map as a place to visit after it was the host of the summer Olympics of 1996. But the city and area is much older and have a lot of history if you are keen to look for it. Atlanta was established in 1837, but the history of the city starts even way before that. When you visit this big city filled with skyscrapers and fried ...

Halloween in America. Where did it come from and why is it great?

Image
Halloween is, primarily, an annual American holiday celebrated each year on October 31.  It is a holiday everyone loves, and are looking forward to for months. The events around Halloween are many and very different, some I experienced myself.  On the Upper West Side in New York, we walked by a few places advertising for pet parades and pet costume competitions. On the Lower West Side, they were celebrating the pre-Halloween weekend with children’s playground Halloween party down on Bleecker’s street and hundreds of families had turned up to enter their child into the competition for best costume and play with the other Halloween dressed-up kids. House on Upper West Side, New York In Boston, they had a few block parties. We attended one pre-Halloween-weekend Dia de los Muertos at the Taza chocolate factory with free chocolate and traditional Mexican dancing for the season.  In the evening the streets were filled with dressed-up adults out to have a good nig...
