Do you want to have my baby?

I’ve often been asked by friends, family and sometimes strangers why I do not have children. Whether or not I want them and what might be the matter with me since I haven’t settled down already. Clearly, there must be something wrong with me because I do not have that house, those 2.1 children, the man and the little white fence. I’ve rarely had an answer to that question. What do you really answer when someone, often someone you barely know asks:” why don’t you have any children?” They phrase it like it is the most normal question in the world, and somehow they all feel entitled to ask me this very question. I’ve often thought of what I should answer. Why don’t I have any children? Because I wasn’t ready, I haven’t found the right guy, I can’t have children, I had different dreams to for fill, I am happy the way I am… The answers are many, sometimes I even want to throw the question back into their faces. Like: Why do you have children? Why did you always dream of settling ...

1.        Australia : Spiders aren’t actually that scary! – When I first arrived in Australia I checked everything! I mean everything for spiders. I was sure I would die from spider bites. I read that Australia is home to all the deadliest animals in the world and I was sure those spiders would get me.       After around a month I stopped. I saw a few redbacks in the outback and a funnel web in Byron Bay but no spiders ever attacked me. After around 5 months I was more frightened of Crocodiles. Never saw one. 2.        New Zealand : The Lord of the Rings movie didn’t lie about the scenery! OMG! We spend five weeks in New Zealand and I loved the nature (and the people). Everywhere we went and everywhere we stopped the car was amazing and breathtakingly stunning. I wanted to be Samwise and go on a trip with Frodo across New Zealand and to this day I want to go back and just walk and walk all...

Meet the Orang-utans, Sumatra, Indonesia

Sumatra Venture into the enchanted dense jungle one of the biggest island of Indonesia. This is where fairytales can come true. Sumatra is located just west of Java and south of the Malay Peninsula. It is very densely populated, and a fresh change of air if you come from Java. There are a few things here that do make it a harder island to explore than many other islands in Asia though. Firstly the infrastructure makes it quite hard to get around. There are not many options for public transportation, and not really that many roads. Because it has quite few inhabitants compared to Java, and much less tourism than Bali making these roads accessible does not seem like the biggest priority for Indonesia. This makes it a wild, vast land perfect for the adventurous lone explorer.  There are plenty of options to discover undiscovered lands and wonderful untouched nature.  Sumatra is one of the most biodiverse areas on earth, known for its extraordinarily rich flora and fau...
