The Coastline of Western Australia
It is time to leave the cities and go explore some of the striking and breathtaking nature of the West Coast of Australia. Let's drive north and into the unknown… Stunning windblown landscape cover the red soil of the Australian outback…The wild, wild Western Australia offers a vast empty eternity where you can drive on for hours without meeting anyone.
Pinnacles Desert
Arrive early in the morning to witness the Western grey kangaroos graze on the vegetation in the park. The kangaroos are quite people-friendly and you can get fairly close to them if you are moving slow and steady. Watch wild emus, and other wildlife stalking through the spires and see the landscape lit in spectacular sunrise or sunset colors.

Pinnacles |
Around two hours north of Perth you find the Pinnacles Desert, limestone formations within Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes. The origin and formation of these limestone pillars are still being debated by scientists, for more information you can visit the park’s interpretive discovery center to learn how the Pinnacles evolved and about the region's biodiversity. When out of the car continue out on the magnificent scenic walk through the Martian landscape of the ancient limestone pillars of the Pinnacles. Lots of them are huge, some several meters taller than me and all of them are shattered over the astounding desert. While walking through the park stay on the trail and follow the arrows. We met a snake on the road and they do warn against sand goannas and carpet pythons that like to soak up the sun on the rocks during the day.
The Pinnacles date back millions of years and are made of shells which proves that this dramatic landscape once was located under the sea, and the world just changed at its own slow pace. Now they are located on a yellow sand dune far away from the blue Indian Ocean.
Pink Lake, Port Gregory
I had the Pink Lake on my bucket list for ages. It just took me a long while to figure out where exactly this hidden pearl was located in the world. And here finally I had the chance to visit it. Driving through Port Gregory I finally got a glimpse of the dazzling and breathtaking water dyed pink. After all, pink is an eye-catching bright color and I was drawn-in. Over 14 kilometers in length and utterly beautiful, dyed from carotenoid-producing algae and packed full of salt. It’s a very of special experience. It is located near the small town of Port Gregory, which is a sleepy fishing village with one thing people want, the Hutt Lagoon. Port Gregory is literally where the world ends. At least where the road ends, so you will have to go back the way you came.
